Edinburgh Festival 2009: Two Craves!!

The Royal Holloway Theatre Company present Crave at the Edinburgh Festival.  It is on from 5-31 Aug 2009 at the C Soco venue.

The actors are Lewis Alexander Collier (A), EJ Martin (M), Anna McKiernan (C) and Steve Wickenden (B).  The director is Tamsin Bell,  Asst Director Liam Fleming, Producer Ben Karakashian,  Asst Producer Sophie Hallwood, Stage Manager Julia Berndt, Deputy Stage Manager Hannah Debansi, Asst Stage Manager Lizzie Fisher, Lighting Designer Andrew Sinclair and Press Officer George Islay Calderwood.

Sarah Kane ten years on

It is ten years since Sarah Kane died.  Every year Jess lays flowers outside the Royal Court theatre.  Here are his flowers for Sarah in 2009.  Photo by Jess.

Blasted in Belgium

Sermoen Theatermakers present Blasted from 22 Sept- 2 Oct 2009.  The production is in Flemish and is described as "In een dure hotelkamer in Leeds nodigt de oudere tabloid-journalist Ian zijn ex-liefje Cate uit, omdat hij bang is om alleen te zijn, omdat de inlichtingsdiensten achter hem aan zitten, omdat hij seks wilt met haar. De motieven blijven onduidelijk. Plots stapt een soldaat de hotelkamer binnen: ‘onze stad nu’."

The director is Simon De Vos, the performers are Eva Binon (Cate), Patrick Vervueren (Ian), Phillippe Annaert (soldier), Anouk Sturtewagen (cello), costumes are by Nikè Moens and design is by Caroline Mathieu.  For more information click here.  Thanks to Laurens for the information.

Crave (Hunker) in The Netherlands

Crave (in Dutch Hunker) was on at the Toneelschuur, Haarlem, Holland from 21-24 Oct 2009 and is now on a national tour.

22 oktober is de première van Hunker van Sarah Kane in Toneelschuur Haarlem.  De voorstelling is aldaar te zien van 21- 24 oktober. Daarna volgt een tournee.

Vertaling- Marcel Otten, Regie- Olivier Provily, Spelers- Tamar van den Dop, Marcel Faber, Anne Gehring en Kalki Aporos, Decor en kostuumontwerp- Tatyana van Walsum, Lichtontwerp- Maarten van Otterdijk, Dramaturgie- Alexander Schreuder. Techniek- Jeroen Veer.
