Cleansed (Renset) will be performed by Den Nationale Scene, in Bergen Norway.  It was part of the Festspillene i Bergen on 22-25 May 2002 and after the Summer it will be revived from 7 Sept- 19 Oct 2002.

Phaedra's Love in Belgium

Theatre company De Smedt are performing Phaedra's Love in Kunstencentrum Nadine, 30 Herdersstraat, 1050 Elsene, Belgium 30 Sept to 5 Oct 2002.

The players are Marij De Nys, Hendrik De Smedt, Thibault Pringot and Eline Kuppens, the tanslation is by Wim Lots and the director is Matthias Dusesoi.

De teksten van de Britse theaterauteur Sarah Kane, op het eerste gezicht louter gewelddadige, bloedige tijdsdocumenten, zorgden bij hun eerste opvoering al meteen voor controverse, later nog versterkt   door de vroege zelfmoord van de auteur. Nu de sensatie rond de persoon Kane   en haar werk wat geluwd is, willen de jonge theatermakers van Tg. NUN de   tekst zelf laten spreken.
Phaedra’s Love is een tekst over iconen, integriteit, liefde en de honger naar kicks. Koningin Phaedra is stapelverliefd op haar stiefzoon Hyppolytus en pleegt zelfmoord wanneer hij haar afwijst. In Kane’s hedendaagse versie van dit klassieke verhaal krijgt Hippolytus’ levenshouding een centrale rol toebedeeld.

Dès leurs premières représentations, les textes  de la dramaturge brittanique Sarah Kane, à première vue des documents violents  et sanglants illustratifs d’une époque, étaient déjà l’objet de controverses.  Leur renommée grandit encore après le suicide de l’auteur. Maintenant que  la sensation autour de sa personne s’est un peu calmée, les jeunes gens de  théâtre néerlandophone de Tg. NUN veulent donner la parole au texte même.     
Phaedra’s Love est une pièce qui parle d’icones, d’intégrité, d’amour et de la chasse aux stimulants. La reine Phèdre brûle de passion pour son beau-fils Hyppolyte et se tue quand il la rejette. Dans   la version contemporaine de Sarah Kane de cette histoire classique, l’attitude   de Hyppolyte joue un rôle central.

Crave is on in Toronto, Canada from 23 May to 1 Jun 2002.  It's produced by the Graduate Centre for Study of Drama at the University of Toronto.  The specific dates are 23, 24, 25, 26, 30, 31 May and 1 Jun 2002.  Directed by Sam Stedman, the cast includes Michael Devine (A), Kevin Rees-Cummings (B), Kelly Rico (M) and Tamila Zaslavsky (C).  Assistant director Eszter Jagica, movement coach Elena Kaufman and dramaturg Joanna Falck round out the production team.   Click here for details. Kane festival in Turkey: Crave and 4.48 Psychosis premieres

Suffering (Kývranýþ) is a two play project: Crave (Tutku) and 4.48 Psychosis (Psikoz 4.48). It is performed by a Turkish group as part of the 13th International Istanbul Theatre Festival.  The actors are Payidar Tufekcıoglu, Esra Bilgin, Emrah Elciboga and Derya Alabora.  The director is Emre Koyuncuoðlu.

1998’de Edinburgh Traverse Theatre’da prömiyer yapan “Tutku”da, yitirmek ve tutkuyla istemek arasýnda kalan aþkýn baskýsýyla parçalanmýþ dört insan zihninin çizelgesini takip ediyorsunuz. Crave (Gier) and 4.48 Psychosis (4.48 Psychose) are on in Berlin at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz, Kurfürstendamm 153, 10709 Berlin.

Crave. "Die Personen des Stücks, zwei Männer und zwei Frauen, sind nur mit Buchstaben bezeichnet. Wer will, kann A, B, C und M als »Author«, »Brother«, »Child« und »Mother« lesen (oder A, B, C als Nebenrollen, wogegen M dann als »Me« oder Zentral-Ich gelten dürfte) für die Wirkung des Textes ist das alles unerheblich. »Gier« ist eine wunderbare, befremdliche Sprachkomposition aus Zustandsbeschreibungen (»Ich spüre nichts«), Lebensregeln (»Gib, habe Mitleid, beherrsche«), Story-Fetzen (etwa ein Kindsmißbrauch im Auto), aus Liebesverlangen und Liebesekel und Todessehnsucht. "

The players are Falk Rockstroh (A), Thomas Dannemann (B), Cristin König (C), Michaela Steiger (D) and the director is Thomas Ostermeier.

4.48 Psychose. "Das Stück, das erkennbar an Becketts späten Dramen geschult ist und unter anderem T.S.Eliot zitiert, wirkt zunächst wie ein auf vier Sprecher verteilter Monolog. Und doch gibt es Rudimente eines Beziehungs-Doppels im Quartett: Der ältere Mann A verzehrt sich nach dem jungen Mädchen C (an dem er sich offenbar in früheren Jahren vergriffen hat), sie reagiert angewidert. Der junge Mann B verlangt nach der Liebe der alternden Frau M, die aber will ihn nur benutzen zum Zweck der Begattung: »Ich brauche ein Kind.  "4.48 Psychose" ist das Postmortem einer desolaten Frau, deren Selbst destruktiv ist und die nur das Sprechen kurzzeitig von ihrem Schmerz erlösen kann
